Brunch & Blooms Event

Motherhood comes with endless worry. Will my kids be okay? How do I keep food on the table?

Now carry all of that, while facing cancer. That’s the daily reality for the moms Nankind supports. Our goal this Mother’s Day to invite our community and others to help give them one less worry to carry.

We recently held a Brunch & Blooms event to share with other mothers what that looks like in practice. Women came together over bouquet-making and brunch,  but it was the stories that lingered. Led by our founder, a two-time cancer survivor, alongside two Nankind moms, guests heard firsthand what it means to navigate treatment while raising a family,  managing appointments, showing up for your kids, and never quite shaking the worry of how you’ll put food on the table through all of this.

One mom, Jordanna, shared what that relief felt like for her,

“Meals have been a massive help to me and my family because there was a time when I simply could not afford to put food on the table. I told the mom support group, and within an hour I got a phone call from Nankind. They said, we are going to give you meals, we are going to support you, do not worry about it. It felt like all the things I had to check off were suddenly taken care of in one phone call, and I remember thinking, okay, I can breathe a little.”

In those moments, it becomes clear how meaningful one less worry to carry can be. When meals are taken care of, it creates space to rest, to focus on healing, and to be present with their children. It is a simple form of support, but it changes everything.

The energy in the room was full of connection, compassion, love, and a shared understanding that no mom should have to go through this alone.

This Mother’s Day, our goal is to give 1,000 meals to moms facing cancer, so they have one less worry to carry. A gift of $30 or $50 can help provide nourishing meals when it is needed most.

If you believe every mom deserves that kind of support, you can help make it possible. Give today
