We offer many volunteer opportunities. Find the one that’s right for you!
- In-home Volunteer
For 4 hours a week, you will provide in-home support to a family you are uniquely matched with and deliver Nankind’s Program for Children. You will engage with children and help them process their parents’ cancer.
- Virtual Homework Volunteer
For two hours a week, you will support children to overcome any learning obstacles they may be facing in the classroom and help them build problem-solving skills.
- Virtual Activity Volunteer
For two hours a week you will virtually engage with children using our Fun-in-a-Box program, a monthly activity box delivered to their door with four weekly activities. This program allows children to build a new friendship with you while you help them explore healthy ways to process, understand and express how they feel about their parents’ cancer.
- Auxiliary Volunteer
You will support the Nankind team on a more flexible working on activities such as putting together Fun-In-A-Box activities in our office or fundraising during events. These volunteers don’t have direct contact with the kids and families.
“Volunteering at NAN means I get the chance to help families in need within my community. I can provide the parents with an opportunity to focus on themselves and provide their children with individualized support and a reliable friendship. In turn, I get to see families grow as they work through this difficult time, and it brings me happiness to be allowed into such an intimate part of their lives to witness this change.”
