As a mom, daughter of a cancer survivor and owner of nanny agency, Diamond Personnel, Shauna truly understands the value a qualified and child life-informed volunteer brings to a family living with cancer. “I wish to see NAN’s services reach every mom with cancer who needs their help in Canada. I know how important it is to know that you leave your kids in trusted hands. It not only makes you rest assured that you can put your health first, but during that time, volunteers will support your children in understanding that life is ever-changing,” says Shauna.
As someone who has seen NAN grow, Shauna feels exceptionally proud to experience the organization’s achievements over the years. NAN’s ability to adapt during the pandemic by creating new programs and ensuring families receive the support they need has inspired Shauna, “Each new program speaks to how NAN ensures moms at every stage of their cancer journey are supported.
