The holidays can be especially heavy for families facing parental cancer. When treatment takes over daily life, even daily tasks like grocery shopping and cooking can become a daily stressor. At Nankind, we provide free, compassionate support to families facing parental cancer, including nutritious prepared meals delivered right to their doors. Our goal is to give families one less thing to worry about during a tumultuous time.
Jordanna is a mom to a bright 7-year-old son, and she lives with Cowden Syndrome, a genetic condition that makes her vulnerable to multiple tumors. Since her diagnosis, her life has been turned upside down. She has faced cancer multiple times, endured surgery after surgery, and her treatment has made it impossible for her to keep working, which has only increased her anxiety.
There were days when Jordanna skipped meals and even searched for food from dumpsters just so her son could eat. No parent should ever have to choose between their health and feeding their child. Nankind’s free meal program became a lifeline for her family, bringing immediate relief during the most challenging time of their lives.
This holiday season, every donation goes twice as far thanks to the generosity of La Fondation Emmanuelle Gattuso, which will match every donation made before December 31, 2025, up to $50,000. That means every dollar donated provides double the meals, and double the impact, for families facing cancer.
$50 becomes $100, helping nourish a parent with cancer and their family during a difficult treatment week.
$100 becomes $200, providing multiple meal deliveries so a parent can rest, recover, and focus on their children.
Together, we can reach more families like Jordanna’s this season, ensuring parents do not have to face cancer while worrying about how they will feed their children.
